Posted. The dress was nothing fancy, but exactly what I wanted.

You hike?
Not really, but when our friends invite us we will go. Do you ever have one of those days where you just adore your family. Saturday was that for me, we had so much fun together and it was great. We stayed in our pajamas and played late, hiked and then James and I had a great solo date night. I really love my family, they are the greatest.

I love to see the temple
Going to the temple always helps me to refocus on what is really important. I've found myself being selfish and distracted lately and it was so great to go to the temple to remember what this is all about. I never leave wishing I had done something else, I always feel blessed. I do have to say that I realize this picture has nothing to do with my topic, more with the video below. James was concerned people might be confused.

Mom feet
Before I got married I always swore I would be sure to wear makeup and paint my nails and feel cute everyday. I don't do that... but I do try. It's worth it though, being a busy mom and wife is great.

Personal History: Wedding prep 2005
I had to find a dress and fast, I knew I wanted to buy a dress and so I wouldn't have to worry about that. I wrangled two of my friends into shopping with me and I tried on TONS of dresses, I wasn't really in love with any of them but I settled on one that I liked a lot. It was pretty and priced right and I didn't even have to alter it. I went to the register and as I was leaving the cashier says, "my sister wore this dress, it's really popular with LDS girls right now." Uh....what? I instantly hated my dress, if you know me at all you know I love to be different. I love to be unique and I couldn't bare the thought of knowing the dress I'd chosen was the current favorite. I didn't say anything, I took it home and tried to love it. The next day, I cried a lot. I know that's lame to cry over a dress, but I was so bummed about it. I called the store as a curious customer and asked what the return policy was. All sales are final.... That is when I called my brother-in-law Shawn, he is a master at knowing how to deal with these situations. Shawn has perfected an old grandma voice that he uses to his advantage. My "grandma" called the store and gave them a nice sob story, I felt rushed into buying the dress yada yada. I was able to take the dress back and start my search over. I ended up finding a great dress that I altered into exactly what I wanted. I loved it, but it was a lot more expensive to have those alterations made on a 4 week timetable. The best thing was that I saw two girls at the temple getting pictures taken the same day I was there; in my dress that I had originally picked out.

Flowers?
I'm making a lot more felt hair flowers and I'm trying to get the word out for anyone who wants to buy some. If you know of anyone who might be interested will you send them my way. James is helping me make a page to display and sell, so that should be ready soon.

My friend is crafty
I love having friends I can ask for help when I want to make something. My friend Shannon hooked me up with her expertise and her awesome crafting supplies. I think my banner turned out pretty cute. Her's of course is so awesome, but she is a professional.

A photographer I check out occasionally is having a giveaway, she is sending someone to Seattle . All you have to do is comment on her blog, post about the giveaway and take pictures while you're there. How fun is that? Never hurts to try right, head on over!
