Zoo day

We spent the day at the zoo with Debbie and Hazel, it was a lot of fun.  Gus was in elephant heaven and Hazel was so cute with all the animals.  I love that Hazel goes headfirst down the slide, she is a fearless little girl.

Funny things Gus has said at church

Last week, I was told that Gus was talking about differences between people in his family, "I have hair on my head, Dad has hair on his arms, Mom has hair on her pits."  I am officially shaving my pits every day now, thank you very much Gus.

(This is Gus on his first dress up day at preschool, baseball player)

Legit grown-up

Gus started preschool today and thought he would really impress the ladies by growing out his stache.  The mustache was a real crowd pleaser, I'm sure of it.  He had a great day, and learned a lot.  His favorite part of the day was snack, of course.  It was tough to drop him off and see how easy it was for him to just leave me in the dust, but I am actually really grateful he did it with no issues.  My kiddo is growing up, who knew that would happen.

Road trip

My best friend Lenor and I went on a girls road trip to Utah to be at the wedding of our high school friend, Charity.  I forgot how nice it was to travel with a good friend, and all the great conversations we were able to have.  We also were lucky enough to stay with my sweet friend Amy, who I haven't seen in years.  She has two boys that I've never met and being around all those little boys made me want a house full of them.   The wedding was beautiful, the girl time was great, seeing old friends was wonderful.  There were a few standout events along our drive.  We saw a total of 10 bald eagles, for reals!  It was crazy, and I'm convinced there is some sort of eagle lair in southern Utah.  We also drove through some crazy snow on our way home, which was magical until we did a 360 on the highway and I almost barfed.  I've never lived in snow and that was a bit of an adventure for me.  Such a fun trip and a great memory.

Extended Ford holidays

Our extended Ford family represents a large range of religious views; because of that we only celebrate two holidays with the extended family, new years and Father's day.  Random, but it works for us and it is always fun.  Here are some photo gems from our new years party.  The highlight was my cousin Jake in his "raccoon" fur jacket, he is a funny kid. Also the sparkler names, was a challenge everyone had to try and conquer.  I think Peters turned out pretty solid.
