Fantastic!

My bus buying friend Marlo claims to be going through a mid-life crisis...buying a bus and now she is threatening to SHAVE her head.  So when I asked Marlo if she would let me take her to get her hair done, I was thrilled when she gave me the green light to do whatever I wanted to it.  We first dyed it a dark brown and then got the cutest bob cut ever.  She looks amazing!!

PS, If anyone knows any nice 30-40 something single guys send them my way and we will hook them up with Marlo, she's amazing and she has a bus!
Also, my camera was being weird and all these pictures look a little funky, camera=funky, Marlo not funky.

What the hail?

I love how on a rainy day in Arizona, you can count on a million blogs/facebook posts about the "crazy weather."  Today was straight up CRAZY!!  In all my life I've never seen a microburst so widely spread and so destructive.  One second it's chill and breezy, cloudy and the next it is pouring and hailing huge pieces of hail.  Seriously, large gumball sized hail.  As I drove home I went through a neighborhood and on one block every tree was blown down, it was the strangest thing I've ever seen. As long as if my house stays dry it's cool, if not we've got problems.

That's right, a bus

Marlo bought a bus...awesome right?  So, what do we do as 30 something mom's when we get together for our girl's night?  We cruise the neighborhood in the bus ...and make a music video in the bus!  That's right... my friends are the greatest.

The CabaƱa

We had a great weekend with the Ford family at the Williamson's cabin.  The cabin is great, a perfect space for a family getaway (thank you Williamsons.)  The kids for the most part ran around looking like homeless bums, covered in dirt, bug bites and cuts.  The men/boy folk were always engaged in some sort of competition like, horseshoes, cards or feats of strength. The women were either cooking, cleaning kids or house, or chit-chatting.  No cabin excursion would be complete without a campfire, or trampoline??  (yes they have a trampoline and it was loved by all the kids.)  We rounded off the weekend with a great testimony meeting and a nice clean up crew (Is it crazy that my family loves to clean up, well we do and the cabin looks amazing!!)  As for the pictures of Gus...I was chillaxing with James when he jumped up and said that Gus was buck naked.  We found Gus trying to go potty #2 and he figured it was fine to go outside just like when he goes pee.  FALSE...not okay.  Love my family, they are great!

Labor Day (the day we celebrated Grandma D's birthday)

We are always looking for a reason to do some sort of BBQ/family get together. So we decided to combine mom's birthday and our Labor day celebrations.  We got mom this awesome ice cream maker that fits onto her Kitchen-Aid, it's super cool.  The kids were a wild bunch, they even had a dance party.  The men played poker for hours, until James challenged them to Monopoly which he guaranteed he could win in 1 hour (he won in 1hr 18 min, do not play Monopoly with James unless you want to cry.)  Us women sat and planned a getaway, complete with a test run to ensure comfort for our drive.  My family is great, we miss our brothers though.
